Matt Nelson

Matt Nelson

Matt began his career in Youth Development while attending College of the Canyons when he picked up a part time job at an afterschool program in Castaic. When he transferred to San Francisco State University he continued working with youth at a summer camp in the East Bay. During that time, he developed a passion for working with kids most in need. After completing his BA and returning to Santa Clarita he found the Boys & Girls Club. When he was offered a full-time position as Education Director, he found a career path that matched his interests and passion.

At Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley he’s gone from program delivery to administration to his current role of CEO. Since taking on the role in 2017, Matt has developed an exceptional team of youth development professionals, developed new community partnerships, developed an operational reserve, and weathered the storm of the last year. Going back to school in 2016 for his Master in Public Administration, Non-Profit Sector Management gave Matt the education and tools to better serve the Club and community.

Matt lives in Saugus with his wife Angelica, their daughter Isabella, and their two dogs. For fun he loves camping, reading, and off-roading.

Patricia Siqueiros

Patricia Siqueiros

Patricia Siqueiros began her tenure at the Variety Boys & Girls Club (VBGC) in May 2012 as a part-time counselor funded by a grant from the University of Phoenix. Her impact was quickly felt and she soon became the Senior Program Director. In 2015, Patricia transitioned into the role of Executive Director. Before stepping into the position, Patricia developed and implemented programming in the VBGC College and Career Center, utilizing the theoretical knowledge that she obtained during her graduate studies. She knows that it is critical to expose children especially those in underserved communities to opportunities in higher education from a very early age; consequently, the organization has become known for its innovative approach to this work. It remains a great passion of hers, and she brings that programming experience and intimate knowledge of the community to her role as Executive Director. She has been a great asset to the Variety Boys & Girls Club team, adding credentials and experience in working to enhance leadership and college eligibility opportunities primarily for Latino students in East and Central Los Angeles. Patricia received her B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley, a M.A. in Educational Policy from Stanford University, and a School Counseling Credential from Cal State Northridge. Her primary focus is to help VBGC members realize their full academic potential by providing them with opportunities and resources to obtain a post-secondary education.
