The Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs partnered with ABC7 and Los Angeles County Workforce Development Aging & Community Services, (both are represented on the Kollab Advisory Board).
This partnership is critical in that it offers our partners the ability to tout their good work in these Los Angeles communities through media and digital content for major visibility and impact.
Kollab prepares youths for a better life through an educational fun journey. Our programs help Boys & Girls Clubs members gain experience, have access to experts and build the confidence they need to succeed in school, career and life.
Kollab brings together public and private partnerships to build tomorrow’s workforce and be future ready, while providing career opportunities to youths from underserved communities in Southern California. The County relationship is vital so that our youth not only have access to the largest employers in Los Angeles but so that they are experiencing financial literacy (for many first time banking) and their understanding the value of a dollar earned.
We believe every student should have equal access to education, experiences and career opportunities that will help them reach their full potential.
We are focused to secure funding to continue to provide the Kollab program to all 20 Boys & Girls Clubs in Los Angeles County. The program offers Clubs access to companies for potential board members, transforms the student’s lives, pays the youths $14.25 an hour per the County, provides one High School credit for going through the program. This program ultimately secures the LA County Boys & Girls Clubs to be regarded as one of the best future diverse employee pipeline for the various companies in Los Angeles. The Clubs will preselect the youth ages 16 to 18, and they will be primed for the Kollab program because of the great preliminary work the Club has done through their workforce, leadership programs.
